Pre-Booking Details

When will I be able to start booking my trip?

Your trip can be booked as soon as the corporate office has released the names to Leisure World Travel. This generally happens no later than February 15th .

What date do I have to have my trip booked and what date do I have to travel by?

If you’re a 2024 trip winner you will need to book your travel by December 15th ,2025, and travel by March 31, 2026.

What do I need to travel outside of the country?

You will need a valid US Passport to travel outside the country. Please refer to the website us.state.gov of the country you’re traveling to for more information on all entry and exit requirements along with updated CDC and State Health department guidelines. This will be your responsibility to keep up with these requirements.

When will the Real ID be required for travel?

May 7th of 2025 you must have real ID or a US Passport to travel domestically.

What is the official travel vendor list?

The official travel vendors list provides a list of air and hotel packages, guided tours, and cruise companies you are allowed to book your, “Choose Your Own Adventure” travel certificate through. The rules and guidelines of this list are compiled of safe, reliable, good quality package options that will not lead you astray. The websites are listed on this tab. You can click on each one to investigate further in case you want to do your own research prior to reaching out.

What is my travel voucher eligible to be used for?

Please note, land package components must be pre-purchased by Leisure World Travel with the same tour company from the official vendor list. The components consist of a combination of round-trip air, along with resort/hotel, car rental, travel insurance, and excursions. Some destinations do not offer all these components therefore we will not be able to prepurchase. Daily resort fees are not prepaid and will be paid out of pocket when you check out. Please also note new to this year, most car rental taxes are included however, Delta Vacations does not include taxes and they will be paid upon returning the car rental.

If your travels take you to sea, cruise packages must also be purchased from a preferred cruising vendor. The components of your cruise eligible to be paid for with the travel voucher include the cruise fare, travel insurance, pre or post cruise hotel stays, airfare (if booked directly with the cruise line), cruise port transportation, and prepaid service gratuities. Cruise additives like beverage and Wi-Fi packages are only eligible to be purchased with the travel voucher if they are offered in combination with the cruise fare itself. Cruise companies that offer this combination fare include Princess Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruise Line, and Norwegian Cruise Line. If these components have to be purchased after the cruise fare itself is secured, they are not eligible to be purchased with the travel voucher and must be paid out of pocket. Other components not eligible for purchase include shore excursions, specialty dining, spa services, arcade vouchers, etc. Please contact our cruise expert, Kennedi Lako, with any additional cruising voucher eligibility questions. Can you book my friends and family who would like to travel with me?

Yes! If you have friends or family traveling with you, we would love to assist in their travel plans! Family and friends will be treated with the same quality travel planning services offered to our valued Scheels family. Family members are welcome to contact us directly by phone at 701-667-1786 or by email at Jodi.LWT@bis.midco.net to collaborate with your pending or established travel plans. Just have them mention your full name and Scheels to get started!

How do we book hunting and fishing trips?

We have formed a relationship with Jim at Hosted Hunts. You can go to their website, Hosted-Hunts.com, and click on the promo code and enter “Scheels” along with your personal information. Jim will reach out once this is received. I will still need you to fill out the trip form on this site for billing purposes.

Are the trip options provided on the website guaranteed prices?

No, these are sample options provided to give a few ideas and options of where your voucher can be used. In most cases past Scheels employees have been on these trips!

What is travel insurance?

Many of the travel companies provide a “cancel for any reason” insurance. This protects your investment once you’re booked by allowing you to use the cost of insurance to cancel. You will receive a credit voucher in each person’s name on the remaining balance to use within the year with the travel company you purchased your trip through. In addition, while you’re traveling it will cover trip delay and interruption for unexpected travel delays and unexpected costs. A claim can be filed once you return from your trip. Please keep any receipt of additional purchases you have incurred due to the delay. Please note the reimbursement is at the discretion of the insurance company.

Is baggage included in the quote?

Baggage is not included and will be paid when you check in 24 hours in advance. Depending on the airline, a carry-on is most of the time free of charge. To find out the exact rules go online to check the website of the airline you’re traveling on.

Are car rental taxes and daily resort fees included in the prepaid trip?

Please note, that this year most car rental taxes are included, however Delta Vacations does not include theirs and they will be paid out of pocket upon returning the car rental. In addition, many domestic hotels have daily resort charges and parking fees that will also be paid by the client at check out. The estimated fees will be located on your confirmation for you to view prior to applying your travel credit. This will allow you to be aware of the estimated charges before you lock into your vacation package.

Booking Procedure

How do I get started?

You will need to complete the trip information form located on this website. Please fill out the form with legal names that match your ID or Passport as that is how your name will appear on your travel information. Please know you can include as much free flow about your wants and needs in the “travel details” box however your trip must be booked as a package to qualify. You’re welcome to fill this out as soon you have been notified of your award.

Once I send my form in, how long will it take to be contacted by Leisure World Travel?

You can expect to hear back within 48 hours. You will receive an email or call depending on how you filled out the form.

What can I expect after my form is filled out and I have been contacted?

You will receive quotes for your preferred travel destination by email. If you have questions or concerns, they will be addressed immediately. Once you are happy with all the details, we will get your trip booked as a package. Please understand prices can change until your legal names are on the booking and we have a confirmation number. We will then need approval from the employee to apply for your travel credit by the deposit date. If we do not hear back from you by this date the booking will be cancelled, and it will be rebooked at the current rate if you choose to proceed after the original deposit date.

What if the total cost of my trip goes over the awarded travel credit?

That is no problem! We can apply your travel credit as the deposit, and you can apply the out-of-pocket expense once the final payment date is due approximately 6 weeks prior to departure.

How do I pay my final payment?

Please call or email us with your credit card information and associated billing address prior to your final payment date for processing. The final payment date will be located on your booking confirmation at time of deposit. It is the guest's responsibility to have payment information to Leisure World Travel promptly to ensure that the booking is paid on time to avoid cancellation.

When will I receive my travel documents?

You will be emailed when they go in the mail approximately 2-3 weeks prior to departure. If you prefer to have them emailed, please let us know!

What if I must cancel my trip?

Please contact Leisure World Travel and I will inform you of your options. The booking rules along with your travel insurance decision will dictate the best outcome.
